RaceRare is owned and operated by Zoe Woods ATE . "I have ridden all over the world and wanted to set up a centre which would offer the sort of riding I searched for. I didn’t want to ride at a walk – because most of the riders were beginners. Nor did I want a fast and furious ride over challenging terrain. I wanted to be able to canter and enjoy lovely countryside, without being over-horsed!"

We bought our first horse for Ride and Drive in 1995. He is now 28 years old and a retired film horse. (Three Musketeers, Dance to Music of Time (channel 4), Mary Reilly with Julia Roberts)

We had no history but were sure he might be a Cleveland Bay part-bred. Some years later we went shopping for a quiet hack and decided to buy a Cleveland Bay.

We had heard that, in mainland Europe, there was a breed of Arab taller than those we normally see in Britain. Our research led us to the Hungarian National Stud at Babolna.
